George`s Gyros in Elkhart

When I worked in Elkhart, I used to have lunch here once or twice a week every week for a couple years. They have the best gyros in the area that are made to order, big chunks of feta, and generous portions of meat. Still head there for dinner every so often. I dream about this food (and the fries!)

Since we moved out of town I Always try to stop in whenever we come up for a visit! By far the BEST gyros I've ever had! Authentic ingredients!!

Great lunch specials with good service

Always an enjoyable close feeling and atmosphere. Great place to people watch and hopefully make new friends. I really wish they had a Chicago styled beef sandmich though. It would go over HUGE with their customers.

I wish I could give this place more than five stars, because it is my favorite place to grab a burger in Elkhart! Great lunch specials for a reasonable price. Our food is always fresh and consistent. Portions are generous. The staff takes the time to get to know us, and they already have our "usual" going when we walk in. George's is owned by great, hardworking people, who contribute to their community and truly make a difference, so I am happy to continue eating there!

George's is a fantastic Greek deli. Nico and crew will take great care of you. Gyros to spanakopita, salads, all kinds of hot sandwiches, baklava, too! They have it all.

➡12-04-2018.Ordered the grilled chicken sandwich (not really grilled but cooked on a flattop) was OK, the burgers are identical burger king patties & tasted exactly like a whopper, which where good. Now to the item that they're known for.......the Chicago Italian sandwich, was very good with a hint of spices.The Chicago Italian & gyro combo sandwich will cost $7.70 (cash price)...and is pretty filling.Overall a very good place to eat. Givin' it 4.5 stars. Only bad thing is nowhere to park the rig unless you are bobtailing.

Great little joint. Quite an extensive menu, and haven't been disappointed with any of it! Clean, too.

Always awesome food

I've been coming to George's for years and I love the atmosphere and food. Employees are always friendly and helpful.. and patient at times when I'm not sure which fantastic dish I'd like at the moment. Reasonably priced food with a nice variety and great specials everyday of the week. I love this restaurant and will continue to be a loyal customer. Thank you Niko for continuing your father's legacy. I hope to continue eating the delicious food here for years to come. Highly recommended if you're in the Elkhart area.

Best Gyros in town!! Great staff!!

I've ate at George's for a decade & love seeing him and always get the gyros.... but I won't be back! To charge a customer a dollar more for iceberg lettuce is crazy when you're already paying $9.00 for the gyro plate! Really.... Healthy choices are now capitol gain that cost pennies compared to French Fries?! Too bad... I used to go there weekly & to argue my point wasn't worth my value as a loyal customer! Cya George!

I love this family owned place. They and their employees are very friendly, the service is wonderful, and you're treated very well; like family. All the food is great. I've had gyros, hamburgers, and Italian beef here. It's always bright, inviting, and clean in their restaurant. I've always throughly enjoyed the personal service and delicious food from George's. I highly recommend this neighborhood business for eat in or take out.

I love the food here, the italian beef and sausage is really good, chili cheese fries are awesome. Staff is friendly and considerate...my favorite place for sure

George's has great food and the best gyros. It's a family owned restaurant and they take good care of their customers.

Such a comdortable environment full of locals. The food is wonderful. The owner and staff are very accommodating. My 5 year old asks for extra (fill in the blank) and is greeted with a smile and extra pickles, peppers, whatever he asks.we always find dining out at George's a treat!

Being from Chicago myself i love to come to a restaurant that gives me that hometown feeling... love how they have the walls covered in Chicago sports teams.. The food and service here is excellent.. The gyro plate is one of my favorites... also enjoy the Italian beef sandwich as well.. highly recommended this place.. If your in the area stop by..

This would be 5 stars if their fries were better. I couldn't eat mine. The gyros and rib tips are off the chain. Get extra pita bread and cucumber sauce.

Sad day...Went for lunch today and found a note on the door stating that the owner, George Fotopoulos, died unexpectedly on 1/1/17. Note says they plan to reopen soon. George was one of the nicest business owners, nicest men, I've ever met. Treated everyone as a friend.

Everytime I go here I get the Gyro Platter with an extra Pita. Everytime it's amazing. I have never regretted eating here ever. Try George's you wont regret it.

Their Taco Gyro...I was still thinking of it days later. My God I dont know what they did different but it was something out of a dream. Something like this...this Gyro but a Taco instead but not all the way a Taco... my God it was incredible.
